Frankie Beverly Dies at 77

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news on the passing of legendary soul singer and songwriter Frankie Beverly, who left us at the age of 77.

The official Instagram page shared that he passed away on Wednesday, September 10. 

Known for his time with the iconic funk band Maze, Frankie Beverly’s smooth voice and heartfelt lyrics have been a staple in the lives of many.

While the exact cause of his death has not been disclosed, the announcement has led to an outpouring of love and tributes from fans and fellow musicians alike.

Frankie Beverly announced his retirement in 2024 with the aptly named “I Wanna Thank You Farewell Tour,” a series of performances that allowed fans to celebrate his musical legacy one last time. The tour concluded with an emotional performance on May 12th at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. His final performance, however, took place in June 2024 in Washington, D.C., a city that held a special place in his heart. On June 14th, the city honored him by proclaiming it “Frankie Beverly and Maze Day,” a testament to his lasting impact.
