Q Parker’s New Single ‘Beg’ Marks New Era in Solo Career

Q Parker, formerly of R&B group 112, is on a mission to reclaim his spot back in the hearts Urban AC music lovers, and he’s not ashamed to do a little begging to make it happen.

Q just dropped something special for us. His new single, “Beg,” is a soulful jam that’s here to remind us about the importance of expressing love and appreciation for those who matter most.

Now, if you saw Q’s name in the headline and clicked the link because you remember him from his Bad Boy Records days – the golden days of 112, then you also remember those smooth vocals and harmonies.  Not to mention all of those unforgettable tracks from the group and Q’s solo career. Can you believe it’s been nearly 12 years since Q’s debut solo album, The MANual, back in 2012?

“Beg”  may just be that come back track we didn’t know we  needed until now.

Produced by the talented Blac Elvis, “Beg” isn’t just any song; it’s a soulful masterpiece that serves as a reminder that it’s okay to show someone special just how much they mean to you. And that sometimes the best way to express our feelings is to be open, honest, and yes, even a little vulnerable. And if there’s nothing else that we’ve learned from great R&B is how to be vulnerable.

Fatman Scoop Dies Shortly After Hamden Performance

The life of Isaac Freeman, III aka Fatman Scoop, was cut short during a Hamden, CT performance.

It was  an unfortunate turn of events for the conclusion of the Hamden Summer Concert Series, on Friday, August 30, when headliner, Fatman Scoop, collapsed on stage; was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

The sad news was confirmed and shared with friends and fans of the “Be Faithful” performer on Facebook via Birch Michael, his tour manager.

The event, that will now be remembered as Scoop’s final performance, was heavily attended by many Hamden and Greater New Haven area residents. The show was a part of the town of Hamden’s summer series, originally scheduled for July 12, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

Video footage shows Fatman Scoop, 53, doing what he was known for best – moving the crowd.

He can then be seen moving from the lower level of the stage to the “main stage,” as described by DJ Binky B, the DJ seen standing on stage with Scoop, in a Facebook Live Video, before reciting his last words to the crowd- -“if you came to party make some noise.”

“At the time I’m just thinking maybe he’s a little exhausted, cause he was tired..” DJ Binky B recalls of the moments immediately following Scoop collapsing on stage. “He looks me right in my eyes, he said ‘Bink just keep the music playing. Keep the music playing Bink.” The 94.3 WYBC FM DJ recalled CPR performed by emcee Ronald “Huggy Bear” Huggins, who also led an emotional community prayer, before realizing “the situation is really really bad.”

UACO sends our condolences to the family and fans of the legend, Fatman Scoop. And our prayers of comfort to those in attendance at his final show.

TLC’s T-Boz Suffers Severe Medical Emergency

TLC’s Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins suffered a recent health scare that doctors confirmed was pretty severe. The good news is she’s “on the mend.”

The R&B trio, who now performs as a duo after the loss of member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, was scheduled to perform at the New York State Fair, in Syracuse on Friday, August 23. That performance was abruptly canceled when T-Boz fell ill shortly after arriving in New York.

According to a statement released on the group member’s X page, the “Red Light Special” singer “experienced sudden and severe nausea, vomiting and intense abdominal cramps” – all signs and symptoms of what resembled food poisoning.

Both T-Boz and group mate Rozonda “Chili” Thomas were advised to cancel the next show in Connecticut at Foxwoods Resort and Casino under doctors orders.

Fortunately, the 54-year-old is “on the mend” and looking forward to making it up to those fans who didn’t get to see the group perform.
