SWV to Receive ‘Black Music Honors’ Award
SWV will be among the many music artists to receive awards at this year’s Black Music Month Honors.
LeAnne Clency “LeLee” Lyons, one of the group’s members, took to Instagram to share the news.
The trio girl group, which consists of Lyons, Cheryl “Coko” Clemons and Tamara “Taj” George, rocking Urban AC radio since the early ’90s with classic hits like “Anything”, “You’re The One”, “Right Here” and their most successful track, “Weak.”

The 8th annual awards ceremony will be recorded live at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on Friday, May 19th and will premiere on the Stellar Network on June 3 and air in national broadcast syndication from June 10 – July 2, according to UPI. The show will also air on Bounce TV on June 19.
Other honorees include Missy Elliott, gospel greats The Hawkins Family, R&B/Soul singer Jeffrey Osborne, and Evelyn “Champagne” King.
Set to take the stage for a very special Tribue Performance to the honorees are: LaTocha Scott from Xscape, Robin Thicke, 702, Sevyn Streeter, Raheem DeVaughn, Dave Hollister and Tweet.
SWV is also set to join R&B groups Jodeci and Dru Hill on tour.
